SAGES

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Sages is the electronic pop project of artist and producer Racquel Hardy. With roots in music that stretch back to childhood, Sages brings a deeply personal yet sonically expansive approach to electronic and experimental pop.

Music has been part of Hardy’s life from the very beginning. At the age of eight, she began co-writing songs with her younger sister, often finding herself in the studio with their father. She later taught herself guitar, channeling her emotions into acoustic songwriting before discovering her first synthesizer at sixteen. By eighteen, she had formed her first band, and in 2014, Sages was officially born — a solo outlet for electronic experimentation, emotional storytelling, and genre-bending production.

Sages’ sound is a cerebral mix of electronic textures, experimental synth work, and introspective lyricism. Influenced by artists such as Gorillaz, Charli XCX and Britney Spears, her music blends elements of hyper-pop and alternative pop with themes of love, self-awareness, and emotional reflection. It’s a sound that feels both ethereal and visceral, pairing distorted synths and heavy bass with vulnerable, intimate vocals.

After years of performing across the GTA and Canada, Hardy took a step back in 2022. Burnt out from the relentless pace of independent music, she shifted her focus to sync licensing and sharpened her production craft. That period of growth now informs her upcoming releases. With new music set for late 2025, Sages is entering a fresh chapter — one defined by textured, danceable atmospheres, layered production, and an infectious sense of energy.

For Hardy, creating music isn’t a choice — it’s a necessity. “It’s not about want, it’s about need,” she explains. That urgency and authenticity pulse through every Sages track, inviting listeners into a world where electronic soundscapes meet raw human emotion. Whether introspective or euphoric, her music aims to make people feel good, move, and connect.
